Established in 1850, Stroud & Swindon is the fifteenth largest building society in the UK with assets of more than £3.2 billion.
Stroud & Swindon was drowning in volumes of stored paper and electronic information. Every month saw 13,000 calls handled and over 5,000 pieces of paper filed. Regulations demanded that data be maintained, but the organization was still dependent on manual, paper-based operations.
An Imaging and Workflow system was needed to increase operational efficiency and improve customer service, while at the same time meeting government compliance requirements.
Vignette technology was tapped to ease the burden of processing the capture, retrieval and storage of all documents.
Since implementation, Stroud & Swindon has achieved measurable benefits in terms of paper processing and storage, efficiency, customer service and cost savings. An average of 5,000 file movements per month is now down to 1,200 and the number of customer services calls handled has doubled.
