On considering the various alternatives available on the market, the Regional Ministry of Environment opted for Vignette Content Manager, Vignette Application Portal and Dynamic Portal. There were numerous reasons for this choice: the stability for management of large volumes of content, the flexible and dynamic design of the navigation trees, which helps to maintain consistency and homogeneity within the site, and the extensive functionalities for role management, user permissions and the design of specific workflows.
Some of the projects can already be seen, such as the new intranet, the new Web portal, a specific portal for hunters and fishermen, the Environmental Information Network of Andalusia, the Environmental Geographical Information System of Andalusia, etc. All of this is operated while keeping the intranet and the Web site on different sites, but under one shared content manager.
The Web site of the Regional Ministry of Environment of the Regional Government of Andalusia has established itself without doubt as one of the most advanced sites within the entire administration of Andalusia, both internally and externally. All of this has resulted in an exponential growth in the number of users visiting the portal daily, now amounting to 2 million visits per month. In short, the Regional Ministry of Environment of the Regional Government of Andalusia has moved closer to its users, who in turn have found a simple, efficient and modern way of getting closer to administration.
